These are not fonts, and that matters
X gives you no formatting. There is no bold button, and there never has been. What these generators produce are entirely separate Unicode characters that happen to be shaped like styled Latin letters. The bold A is not an A in a bold font, it is a different character called MATHEMATICAL BOLD CAPITAL A, and that is precisely why it survives being pasted into a platform with no formatting at all.
Useful to know, because it explains every quirk. The text cannot be searched against its plain spelling, it cannot be styled further, and some of it will render differently on Android than on iOS depending on which glyphs the system font covers.
The cost nobody mentions
X charges two characters for anything outside the Latin ranges, and every one of these styles is outside them. So a bio that fits comfortably in 160 plain characters needs 320 once it is styled, and simply will not save.
That is why every style on this page shows its real cost against the 160-character limit rather than just its length. Roughly speaking, a styled bio gets you about 80 usable characters. Style one word rather than the whole line and you keep both the effect and the room.
What it costs you in reach
Two real downsides, and neither is theoretical. Screen readers announce these characters one by one, or as their formal Unicode names, or skip them entirely, so a fully styled bio is unreadable to anyone using one. And X's search matches the characters as typed, so a name written in script does not come up when someone searches the plain spelling of it.
The practical rule: style a word for emphasis, never your name, never your handle, and never the sentence that says what you do. Those are the parts that need to be found.
A styled bio does not bring you customers
It is worth ten minutes, not an afternoon. The profile is the easy half, and the half you control entirely. The hard half is being in the right conversations, and no amount of typography moves that.
